It was around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday January 18 when a tragedy occurred in a private field in a place called Chatellier, in Sion-les-Mines, in the far north of Loire-Atlantique.
According to the first elements, confirmed by the Châteaubriant gendarmerie company, “a maneuver is made with a machine to fell a tree. When it fell, the tree fell on a 63-year-old man.” The person at the controls of the machine would be the son of the victim, who lives in the town.
Injured, the sixty-year-old died during his transport to the Nantes hospital center.
An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the tragedy. It is entrusted to the community of gendarmerie brigades of Nozay.
