During the first day of the African International Judo Open in Casablanca (Morocco), the Senegalese selection stood out. The two Senegalese fighters obtained two medals, including a gold in junior.
The African International Judo Open, organized until January 19 at the Mohamed V complex in Casablanca, is an international judo tournament which aims to promote judo in Africa and encourage sporting exchanges between countries.
The opening of the competition was marked by the performance of the young Senegalese fighter Namory Keïta who won the gold medal (-81 kg) in junior ahead of the Malian Mahamadou Doucara and the Moroccan Ali El Khemmal (in photo). A result which demonstrates the talent of Senegalese judokas on an African scale. Conversely, his compatriot Mouhamedou Mboup (-66 kg) obtained a silver medal, which is a satisfactory performance given the high level of this competition which brings together the great African nations.
