Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps won their third straight pairs title at the Canadian Figure Skating Championships on Saturday in Laval.
Stellato-Dudek and Deschamps, who are also reigning world champions, won with a score of 207.06. Lia Pereira and Trennt Michaud (204.96) won the silver medal while Kelly Ann Laurin and Loucas Éthier (187.29) won bronze.
During the free program, Stellato-Dudek and Deschamps finished 2nd with a score of 130.75, behind Pereira and Michaud (134.53).
There were some mistakes, admitted Maxime Deschamps. In training, since I had been ill, things were going really well, there were no problems. Tonight (Saturday), it doesn’t reflect what we practiced. We’re going to go home and work even harder. We’ll do it again next time.
In the men’s race, Roman Sadovsky won gold, regaining the title after his last victory in 2020.
Skating to the music of the film Interstellarthe 25-year-old from Vaughan, Ontario, scored 158.91 points in her free skate, bringing her total to 240.35 points.
It was so loud, I had trouble hearing my note!
said the Ontarian with a laugh after the competition. I just wanted to stay focused, remember to breathe and not let one mistake stop me.

Local favorite Anthony Paradis, of Boisbriand, Quebec, won silver with 225.56 points. For his part, David Li, from Richmond, British Columbia, totaled 197.99 points to take bronze.
Madeline Schizas leads after the short program
Twice national champion, Madeline Schizas took provisional first place at the end of the women’s short program.
-The 21-year-old Ontarian scored 70 points thanks to an exceptional performance during her program punctuated by music from Lion King.

Katherine Medland (61.99), from Ottawa, and Sara-Maude Dupuis (59.81), from Montreal, are 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Schizas won the nationals in 2022 and 2023, before Kaiya Ruiter deprived her of a third title in a row, in 2024.
For their part, three-time Canadian ice dance champions Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier lead after the rhythm dance thanks to a score of 91.84 points with their routine on the theme of Beach Boys.
Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagha are 2nd (86.42 points), while Alicia Fabbri and Paul Ayer are in 3rd place (78.53 points).
The free program for women and dance will take place on Sunday.
