Saturnin, Sidonie, and Aglaeits three geesewere decapitated. For five years, they had been “guarding” the shelter, alerting people with noise when someone approached.

At the time, Anne-Joséphine Heslot had installed them there after an attack on horses. The events probably took place during the night preceding the discovery.

The owner went to gendarmerie in the afternoon.
