this pellet cost him a lot of money, now some fear “for his safety”

Angélique Angarni-Filopon made a mistake that cost her dearly. The president of the Miss company is worried about her safety.

Angélique Angarni-Filopon, 34, was elected Miss France 2025 barely a month ago. A coronation obtained thanks to an atypical look with her short hair, a more mature profile than usual, but also and above all thanks to a relaxation and ease in speaking rarely observed in the beauty contest. But the state of grace was short-lived for the Martinican beauty queen, who has faced a barrage of criticism since her election.

After having suffered numerous negative comments on social networks concerning her age, her hair or her physique, Miss France 2025 has found herself at the heart of a new controversy for several days. Questioned on Sud Radio on January 8, the day after the commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the attack on Charlie Hebdo, Angélique Angarni-Filopon refused to say if she was “Charlie”, after an embarrassed silence. The young woman also refrained from commenting on the right to blasphemy.

This refusal to take a position immediately sparked strong reactions. In addition to the countless comments on social networks, the satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo itself reacted in its weekend edition with a June drawing showing three bearded Islamists holding a sign “I am Miss France”, subtitled “Miss France is not Charlie!”

Faced with the outpouring of criticism, Angélique Angarni-Filopon was forced to react, recognizing on Instagram that she had been “clumsy” in terms of form and recalling that “obviously, freedom of expression is essential in France”. But she also indicated that the function of Miss France imposes “neutrality on certain subjects”. An argument taken up by the president of the Miss France company, Frédéric Gilbert, who decided to step up to the plate in the Parisian. “She went into automatic mode as we asked her: not to express herself as Miss France on political and religious subjects,” he says.

And added: “She kicked into touch, and then it cascaded, there was a little awkwardness but which, once again, comes from what we are asking of her.” “It is not because they are comfortable, like Angélique, that they must give an opinion on everything. There is a duty of reserve,” he adds.

Frédéric Gilbert also warns of the systematic attacks that Miss France have suffered on social networks for several years and expresses his concern about Angélique Angarni-Filopon. “I'm worried about the safety of Miss France. It's a real question that I'm asking myself today. Everything is passionate. And whatever Angélique could have answered, there would have been a controversy, much to her would have fallen on it. It takes a lot, it takes a lot since December 14th, it hurts so much.
