Residents, traders and customers will be able to breathe a sigh of relief. Monday January 20, 2025, the closure of one of the main arteries of the city center of the second largest municipalities in Tarn will be nothing more than a memory. Rue Henri-IV will finally reopen. And the sales are not over…
It had been closed for several months due to work aimed at improving “the infrastructure, safety and accessibility of the street”, recalls the City.
“As an extension of the development of the Sabatier/Limouzy axis, the work on rue Henri-IV, started in July 2024, enabled a complete renovation of the infrastructure, including sanitation, networks and lighting. This project also allowed the creation of a rainwater network, the widening of sidewalks and the installation of new street furniture installations.

Four minute stop terminals
Four minute stop terminals as well as two automatic retractable bollards
were also installed to manage access to this shopping street, one of the gateways to the city center.
Maybe it's not all over yet
“Despite this reopening, possible finishing work could be carried out later on this same axis”, however, warns the town hall, which announces that “for everyone's safety, the street will be blocked from time to time”.
