Every year, the choir of the Victor-Hugo college in Rugles (Eure), which brings together volunteer students under the direction of Stéphane Lallemandprofessor of musical education and choral singing, offers several concerts.
It was the residents of the André Couturier nursing home who had the privilege of receiving the young choristers for their first concert of the school year, last Monday, December 16, a few days before Christmas.
Coordinated work between middle schools and primary schools
This concert was part of the artistic project carried out in coordination with the primary schools of Rugles and Saint-Antonin-de-Sommaire (Eure) for three years. For the occasion, the 46 middle school students were joined by around forty students from CE2 to CM 2.
They will be double, or approximately 200 studentsduring the two final performances which will be organized in collaboration with the Évariste-Galois college in Breteuil (Eure), bringing together students from the two establishments as well as those from the two primary schools. Furthermore, the concert which will take place in Rugles on May 23, 2025 will be free and open to the public.
Professional quality concerts
If these students are amateurs, it is a professional quality that they wish to offer to their audience. To do this, they aim to equip themselves with semi-professional lighting equipment for a “more serious” look and offer a more complete show offering.
Last year, subsidies allowed the choir to equip itself with sound equipment, so all that is missing is the light.
-We already have a certain quality in terms of sound, so let's be even more ambitious! We want people to say “wow”!
A prize pool for their project
In order to be able to afford this semi-professional equipment, the college choir opened an online fundraiser via the National Education crowdfunding platform, “La Trousse à Projet”, dedicated to school, middle and high school projects. .
The collection is open until February 7, 2025. To achieve their goals, students must raise a minimum of 500 euros and ideally 3,000 euros.
Note that the use of this platform guarantees a tax deduction between 60% and 66% for individuals or companies who would like to make a donation.
