High school students from Caussade (Tarn-et-Garonne), guided by their teacher, participated in a documentary project highlighting local initiatives to preserve the Aveyron river and its unique ecosystems.
As part of their school curriculum in Caussade (Tarn-et-Garonne), and at the initiative of their history-geography teacher, Bruno Bonnefoi, second year high school students attended the screening of this film last Thursday documentary. Imagined by Nicolas Fournier, president of the Survol association, this documentary reveals the multiple facets of the river thanks to the varied testimonies of numerous partners: Community of communes Causses Aubrac, Quercy caussadais, Quercy vert Aveyron, and Intercommunal water and water union. sanitation Cande Aveyron, CPIE of Caylus, Campagnes vivants 82 association, canoeing-kayak association in Tarn-et-Garonne, fishing association in Nègrepelisse, Bruniquel Sustainable Development Studies Laboratory, Saur Cayrac and Puylaroque drinking water station, Le Jardin de Montalban, EDF Hydro. Each speaker presented the initiatives undertaken to guarantee the preservation of the river. For their part, the students designed the music for the film.

The testimonies particularly highlighted the restoration of wetlands, an initiative led by the Community of Communes of Quercy Caussadais, by the remeandering of the stream and the wetland of the ash grove of Labastide-de-Penne, located near the Salepeyssou stream , left bank tributary of the Cande in a wooded part upstream of the Puylaroque drinking water catchment.
More than 290 kilometers long, the Aveyron river has its source two kilometers from the town of Sévérac-le-Château. It covers a mosaic of landscapes: the Causse de Sévérac, the Pays ruthénois, the Ségala, among others. It crosses Villefranche-de-Rouergue, Najac, then Laguépie in Tarn-et-Garonne. It follows the gorges at Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val and Bruniquel, to finish its course northwest of Montauban, between Lafrançaise and Villemade, and flow into the Tarn.
