Employment, access to care, environment… The PCF in Aude reveals its concerns for the year 2025

For its wish ceremony, the Aude Communist Party revealed its areas of reflection and its projects on five distinct themes.

At the start of the year, the different political parties come one after the other to send their wishes to the population. Saturday January 18, the Audois French Communist Party joined the movement with several strong themes to address for 2025. In its premises located in , Denis Renard shared the areas of future work. Five topics for reflection are planned: “Employment, access to care, the budget of local authorities, ecology and peace are among our priorities.”

To begin, the Aude representative returned to the national context. “Michel Barnier has left. François Bayrou replaced him. The situation has changed little. We still have the right in power and Emmanuel Macron's austerity policy still seems to be in force.” In Aude, one of the main objectives for 2025 will consist of meeting businesses: “300 job cuts are planned nationally. We are seeing an increase in unemployment with around 36,000 job seekers in our department.”

With the full employment law, active solidarity income (RSA) tenants will be required to work 15 hours per week to receive assistance. A reform that the Aude PCF takes a dim view of: “Employers risk exploiting it. There are some 16,000 beneficiaries in the department.”

Renew the protest

Another important subject for the Aude PCF: access to care. “In Haut-Minervois, eight doctors worked in the sector. There are only four at the start of the year for 16,000 inhabitants.” Addressing this problem represents a considerable project on which the communists want to act in the months to come. With regulation of medical establishment carried out in concert alongside the State.

If François Bayrou replaced Michel Barnier as Prime Minister, the Aude PCF says it is worried about the future vote on the budget. Essentially with regard to the state of finances of local authorities: “Certainly, he softened the bill but it should remain steep. This is why a united rally will take place again in the coming weeks with the aim of renewing the protest.”

On the ecological side, drought acts as a major obstacle within the territory. Furthermore, Denis Renard, accompanied by Patrick Castey, secretary Sylvie Vilas, and Marie-Ange Larruy du Limouxin, demonstrated their total support for the project to reopen the Limoux-Quillan line.

Finally, at the international level, the various representatives of the Aude PCF expressed their relief regarding the ceasefire in Gaza. “We support two very active collectives in favor of peace which organize events in the department”a conclu Denis Renard.
