Cadalen-de Calan affair: the Republicans of Finistère request clarifications from LFI

For the Republicans of Finistère, there can be no question of “interfering, of course, in a dispute which should henceforth come under the jurisdiction of the judiciary”, in the open conflict between Pierre-Yves Cadalen, LFI deputy, and Maël de Calan, president of the departmental council, elected by the center and the right.

Remember that the rebellious MP will file a complaint for defamation this Monday, January 20, 2025. However, the Finistère federation of the right-wing party believes that the comments made on Tébéo by Maël de Calan (who considers that the MP and at least his party are “factious and anti-Semitic”) would be “the fruit of a “hysterization” of the political debate for which “ Insoumise bears an overwhelming share of responsibility”. And to wonder, among other things, if “each LFI deputy approves of his party's delusional economic program, if he approves the request for repeal of the offense of glorifying terrorism, if he supports the refusal to qualify Hamas of a terrorist movement. The only comfort for them: “The Socialist Party has finally distanced itself from this organization, thus guaranteeing the return of a calm and peaceful debate between the right and the left, both at the national and local level.”
