a father and his daughter suspected of having scammed tobacconists with a trick of the bonneteau

Unknown to the justice system, the two will soon be summoned before the prosecutor's delegate.

This is an unusual scam. And two tobacconists from Briançon (Hautes-Alpes) have just paid the price. This Thursday, January 16, a woman went to one of these establishments to buy scratch games. Games that she paid for with a 100 euro note.

A few minutes later, the customer's father presented himself to the merchant and told him that he was very keen on his 100 euro note, that his daughter had made a mistake and that he wanted to get it back for two 50 notes.

The damage was reimbursed

During the handling, the man demonstrates great dexterity while speaking with chatter to the owner. The same method usually allows bonneteau players to scam targets, by manipulating cards and cash.

In the end, the father manages to recover his 100 euro note but also keeps in his possession a 50 note. The merchant finds himself shortchanged by 50 euros. At least two tobacconists were victims of the duo.

When informed, the city police officers arrested them. In police custody, the father, originally from , admitted the facts and cleared his daughter. “Unknown to the justice system, the two people will be summoned before the prosecutor’s delegate,” indicates Marion Lozac’hmeur, the prosecutor. The damage was reimbursed, continues the magistrate.
