Kidira-Goudiry axis: two agents of the Ministry of Energy… die in a traffic accident

A tragic accident that occurred between the towns of Kidira and Goudiry, in eastern Senegal, cost the lives of two agents from the Senegalese Ministry of Energy, Oil and Mines on an inspection mission.

In Senegal, a road accident left two victims in the east of the country. Anna Badiane Badji, topographical engineer, and Moustapha Sow, driver, both employees of the Directorate of Control and Surveillance of Mining Operations (DCSOM), died in a collision with a truck while carrying out an inspection mission along the Falémé river.

Two other agents, Modou Diop, geologist engineer, and Abdoulaye Diouf, environmentalist, were injured in the accident. They were transported to the Tambacounda regional hospital where their condition was stabilized thanks to the rapid intervention of local authorities.

The Minister of Energy, Mr. Birame Soulèye Diop, praised the professionalism of the agents who were on mission on behalf of the Republic and presented his condolences to the families of the victims on behalf of the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister.

The remains are being transferred to Dakar where they will be handed over to the families.
