Who is hiding behind Annabelle scraps of paperartist on exhibition in Escassefort, in Lot-et-Garonne? A woman who observes, a teenager who revolts, a little girl who discovers the world, an artist who creates unique, original and daring works with “nothing”.
Annabelle, during the era of the yellow vests, roams the streets, armed with her camera. She discovers a rebellious world but full of hope which upsets her. Forced isolation, because of the pandemic that followed, gave him time.
On display until February 28, 2025
She created a first painting, on an old canvas background, with small pieces of paper cut out from magazines that she gave to her mother. It is the start of a long journey towards the creation of very personal compositions.
-She uses, recyclesall imaginable supports, canvases or everyday objects, form a “joyful bric-a-brac”, His works tell a story, they are the expression of his emotions, his hopes, his revolts, his demands but also his memories sometimes filled with nostalgia. For this committed approachshe tears, cuts, glues, mixes and interweaves in search of a colorful aesthetic balance. “Nothing is defined, everything can be reinvented,” she says.
