she buys a house which collapses a month later

Less than a month after buying her house in the town of Arbresle, in the Rhône, this 51-year-old hairdresser saw her building collapse.

Delighted with her property purchase on December 9 in Arbresle, Nathalie, a 51-year-old hairdresser, begins work on her new house. But while workers were busy recreating the floor on January 6, they sensed danger and left the building just in time before it collapsed.

Less than a month after its purchase, this house only has its exterior walls. Le Progrès was able to speak with the owner who explained: “The mason has experience and saw the stone which was smoking. He evacuated his workers in time. The central wall collapsed and took everything away.”

The house will probably be razed

The origin of this collapse has not yet been determined. The municipality secured the premises and issued an order pronouncing imminent danger.

“It was a cold shower, a project that fell apart in a few seconds,” laments Nathalie to Le Progrès. She still hopes to be able to move there one day, but is well aware that the date initially set for next summer will be impossible.

“Given the state, I think the house will be razed,” reports Pierre-Jean Zannettacci, the mayor of Arbresle, who confirms that no injuries have been reported.
