Around a hundred people gathered this Saturday, January 18 in the morning, to pay tribute to Marc, a “child of the country”.

The accident occurred at the intersection of the D14 Bis, route de Gisors, and rue Chasse-Marée. This departmental road continues to be talked about, considered dangerous by local residents and the mayor of the town.
Every day, nearly 7,000 vehicles use it. A very noisy crossover that the commune of Bézu-Saint-Eloi endures daily. However, this road axis is essential in the region.”We are between Gisors and the sugar factory, there are no other roads, so there are a lot of heavy goods vehicles passing during the beet harvest period. Despite a charter that we are going to sign with the sugar factory, the limitation of 30 is not respected” deplores the SE mayor of the town, Anthony Brunet.
Speed limits are not respected, dangerous driving is evident towards pedestrians.

Noise pollution and heavy traffic are poorly experienced by residents of the departmental road. “We have windows that shake, I'm woken up sometimes at three in the morning…what I just ask is to be calm, and to feel safe” reports a local resident.
It's a continuous flow that we should share with other villages, because we can't continue like this” adds this lady.
But the municipality does not have control over this section of Departmental 14 bis, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Eure department. Municipal elected officials still insisted on proposing a development plan, estimated at 400,000 euros.
When we arrived, we offered them plateaus in a 30 kilometer hour zone at that location and other developments such as chicanes.” argues Adam Christophe, deputy at Bézu-Saint-Eloi, in charge of works and development.
The Eure department responded that a study was underway, and that proposals should be presented by the end of January.
The development of this departmental road seems urgent, and not only in Bézu-Saint-Eloi. Ten kilometers further in Thil en Vexin this week, a 15-year-old girl was seriously injured by a motorist.
