the dazzling success of a new comedy festival in the countryside

There is no longer a place for sale for the “Fou” humor festival in Figeac, a small town in Lot, in . An immediate success for this third edition which brings together 2,400 spectators.

Since Thursday January 16, the Fous de Fiegac festival has been sold out, occupying the 900 seats at the François Mitterrand space in Figeac. A great success for this young comedy festival.

Three years ago, two brothers from Figeac, actors in , wanted to offer café-theatre to the public of their hometown by creating the Fous festival. From 400 seats the room increased to 900 a success. “We just want to laugh, to have enchanted parentheses“, explains Bruno Aguiar, actor and Fous festival organizer.

Three evenings for three plays, Les Bonobos, Le Gai mariage and Ô mon païs. In the latter, the authors imagined a mayor of a small rural town who calls on a famous Parisian director to direct his local troupe and attract people. A scenario full of twists and turns and comical situations, the very essence of café-theater. “It’s the clash of cultures, that’s where comedy is born“, explains Patrick Andrieu, actor and co-author of “O mon païs” with Gérard Pinter.

There is only one evening left at the Fou festival to take the time to laugh. But the show is now complete. So for next year, remember to book!
