“It will take years and millions of euros.” Call for generosity after the fire at the Kernault mansion

It was on the night of Sunday January 12 to Monday January 13, 2025. For a reason still unknown, the Kernault manor, a 15th century manor listed as a historic monument, was ravaged by a fire.

Before thinking about repair work, you will first have to protect the building.

What I can say is that it will take several years, Maël also warns Calan. That will cost many millions of euros but it will be done, at the right pace with a steering committee which will meet every 2 months, to be sure that the reconstruction progresses as quickly as possible..

The department, owner of the site, had just invested 4.6 million euros in the complete renovation of the manor.

To save it from now on, it will be helped by the Quimperlé community and by the State. But to complete, he appeals to the generosity of Finisterians and launches an appeal for donations with the support of the Heritage Foundation.
