A car hits a tree: one dead in Bas-en-Basset

Friday evening, around 8:15 p.m., a terrible road accident occurred at the exit of Bas-en-Basset on the RD46, on the Aurec road, near “La France”.

A Volkswagen car left its path and violently hit a tree on the left of the road. Despite resuscitation attempts, the driver, a 37-year-old man, died at the scene of the accident.

The RD46 remained closed throughout the emergency response. Around fifteen firefighters were mobilized as well as SAMU 42. A diversion was set up by the gendarmerie who opened an investigation into this fatal accident, the first of the year in Haute-Loire.
