one seriously injured and one man in police custody

On the evening of Friday January 17, 2025, a serious accident occurred in Saint-Jean-de-Boiseau (Loire-Atlantique), south of Nantes, in the Landas sector, where a car hit several people during what appears to be a rodeo, a gathering of cars and motorcycles.

The gendarmes, who opened an investigation, quickly identified the driver of the vehicle and placed him in police custody.

The events occurred shortly before midnight on Friday. Firefighters were quickly mobilized to intervene at the scene of the incident.

Seven injured including one serious

The report shows seven people affected by this accident, indicates the Departmental fire and rescue service (SDIS).

Among them, one seriously injured person was rushed to hospital, while two others suffered minor injuries and were also evacuated. Four people, although affected by the accident, did not require medical transport after a regulation carried out on site.

28 firefighters mobilized

To deal with this situation, the emergency services deployed significant resources: 11 engines and 28 firefighters were engaged. The national gendarmerie and the Mobile emergency and resuscitation service (SMUR 44) were also present to ensure the safety and care of the victims. A local elected official was also on site to coordinate relief efforts.
