“Communism left a very strong mark there”: the PCF of Finistère chose Douarnenez to express its wishes

“This is the first time since I have been departmental secretary of the PCF Finistère, that is to say ten years, that our wishes have been held in Douarnenez,” indicates Ismaël Dupont. Friday January 17, around sixty people gathered at the Charles-Tillon house. “Charles Tillon, to whom we owe the table that we have highlighted for these 2025 wishes, did little to recall the novelty and fertility of the winning strikes of the Finistère sardinières from 1924 to 1927 in his book “On chantait rouge” published in 1977″, underlined the departmental secretary. He chose Douarnenez this year, firstly because of the historic moment mentioned above and currently celebrated but also because “it is one of the first communist towns in with Sébastien Velly in 1921” and that “communism has left a very strong”.

“The political battle is tough”

“With 510 or more members up to date with contributions, we are in 21st position among the French federations in terms of number of members and in first position in . But we have room for improvement in the payment of the contribution because our files include 850 members. Above all, we must continue to strengthen and rejuvenate ourselves, to address the active, because the political battle is tough, with extremely high stakes, and we are not today at the level of what we would need to achieve to weigh significantly in the balance of political power,” he analyzed lucidly in the face of left-wing, union and associative organizations.
