Chantonnay. Sanitation skills transferred to Vendée Eau

The NOTRe law (New territorial organization of the Republic), obliges municipalities to delegate sanitation competence to their intermunicipality before 2026. The Pays de Chantonnay, after in-depth study of the different options, has chosen to entrust Vendée Eau with the management of its collective sanitation network to ensure optimal and shared management of this essential service. 8,000 subscribers will benefit from Vendée Eau’s skills. Through its means and expertise, it will be a trusted partner to meet the technical and environmental challenges of tomorrow,” explains Isabelle Moinet, president of Pays de Chantonnay. Users will continue to receive their water bill from Vendée Eau, including the sanitation tax. Investment projects to improve networks and infrastructure will be continued. Vendée Eau will organize hotlines at the community of municipalities to answer users’ questions. Jacky Dallet, president of Vendée Eau, emphasizes that the country of Chantonnay is the second intercommunity to join after Vendée Sèvre and Autise. Our services will be keen to work seriously and rigorously to carry out our missions in a logic of proximity and high quality of public service.”
