The general controller Régis Deza is leaving his position within SDIS 21. The deputy director will take over the interim role for a few months.
During his speech of wishes from the Côte-d'Or departmental fire and rescue service (SDIS 21), this Friday, January 17, 2025, in Is-sur-Tille, Hubert Poullot (LR), vice-president of the departmental council and president of SDIS 21 formalized the end of mission of Controller General Régis Deza as director of the civil security establishment.
“I officially inform you that our departmental director, after more than three years dedicated to the reorganization and deployment of SDIS equipment in Côte-d'Or, has decided to join the general directorate of civil security to take on new functions », declared Hubert Poullot when addressing the chapter of human resources, “we wish him every success in these new missions”.
Controller General Régis Deza was involved in the defense and recognition of the Côte-d'Or firefighters
Apart from its organizational functions (read our article), Controller General Régis Deza was particularly involved in the defense and recognition of firefighters. He had thus decreed “zero tolerance” for attackers of firefighters (read our article).
Communication actions had been established to strengthen the link between civil security agents and the population such as an original initiative, proposed by a firefighter doctor and supported by the general controller, consisting of financing the purchase of 3,000 polo shirts and Made in France t-shirts in fuschia pink color, intended to be worn in service during Pink October (read our article).
The interim is entrusted to the current deputy director
The Controller General Régis Deza being excused during this ceremony of institutional wishes, Colonel Bertrand Lepoutère immediately took on his new responsibilities by orchestrating the speeches.
Indeed, the one who has been the deputy departmental director since July 8 (read the press release) will assume the interim role until a new departmental director is recruited.
For a few months, Colonel Bertrand Lepoutère now has the mission of “maintaining the deployment of the objectives of the [schéma départemental d’analyse et de couverture des risques]support for [jeunes sapeurs-pompiers] and to the associative world”, which is, according to Hubert Poullot, “essential for the future of our SDIS and the recruitment of our future firefighters”.
“It’s a balancing act for a few months,” says Colonel Bertrand Lepoutère
Asked by Information Dijonthe new interim director reacted to this announcement: he is approaching this mission “with confidence”.
-“Behind me, I have teams, both professional and volunteer firefighters as well as a staff with executives, administrative and technical staff and an associative network which works in good collaboration,” declared Colonel Bertrand Lepoutère , “that’s why it’s rather serene.”
“There are projects that are underway, they are supported by governance, the president recalled this, and this is a reason to apprehend the next six months and prepare for the arrival of a new director who will bring a new analysis and which will help improve the quality of relief in Côte-d’Or,” he added. “The interim period is intended to be continuous. It's a balancing act over a few months so as not to compromise the effectiveness of the relief efforts. After six months in Côte-d’Or, I am proud and happy to lead this SDIS.”
