Created in 2021 under the leadership of Yves Aubaud, a Carentorian with long experience of cooperation in Africa, the non-governmental organization Colibri Afrique-France aims to fight, concretely, against illegal immigration. A training center will open at the end of January 2025 in Togo.
“Togo, a country located between Ghana and Benin, is considered the 3rd country with the highest economic development potential by the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA)”explains Yves Aubaud. “But Togo brings in labor from Senegal, Morocco and the European Union, due to the low practical level of young people leaving schools and universities. »
The country is poor, the north of the country is taken over by the desert, when it is not the jihadists who are reigning in terror there. There are numerous candidates for the Eldorado of immigration to Europe. For this to happen, families must bleed each other, fueling a vast trafficking of human beings. “27% of those leaving disappear: they die, or are sold as slaves or are to harvest their organs. »
With the support of German partners and a proposal from the mayor of the town of Aneho, in southern Togo, on the border with Benin, Colibri-Afrique-France is opening a vocational training school for the tertiary sector at the end of January, in the premises of the Aneho town hall.
“It is intended for young people leaving the school system, to enable them to acquire skills to find a job or to create an economic activity in their territory”with practical and down-to-earth aims, the fruit of the experience of Yves Aubaud, president of the NGO: “I started a business myself from scratch. I tell young people to write their project, so they can sell it and seek support. I also help them write their CV. If they say they like reading: you must have read a book recently and be able to talk about it! Practicing an individual sport is not an asset for working as a team! »
-Yves Aubaud affirms: “All training actions for employability (preparation for access to employment), for business creation (writing your project document, supporting it in front of financial and technical partners), for management and businesses, sales (face-to-face, on the telephone, via the Internet, via social networks), distribution professions, merchandising (training which does not exist in Togo), restaurant service, to the knowledge of wines… will be decided in agreement with Togolese companies and the supervisory authorities. »
The Colibri Afrique France association does not benefit from public funds. She is calling for support to help her carry out her projects: financial donations with proof of receipt, bequests of computers and telephones in good condition)…
