Arnaud Rousseau came to meet the farmers. He refutes the accusation made by the CR of being distant from the concerns of the Creuse peasants. For this cereal farmer, agriculture is plural and diverse, depending on the territory: “In or in the mountain areas, it's not the same! Our productions are different, but at the FNSEA, we represent all productions, there is no small and large agriculture!”

For the members of the Rural Coordination, Arnaud Rousseau is far from the concerns of the farmers of Creuse, the president of the FNSEA denies this.

We accept our difference, our distance is a feeling, not a reality.

A willingness to undertake

The FNSEA program is based around this desire to undertake and build a future. A speech relayed by the outgoing president of the FDSEA of Creuse, Pascal Lerousseau: “we must defend the right to do business in our territory and facilitate the transfer of farms as well as the installation of new farmers.”

For his detractors, Arnaud Rousseau, a cereal grower at the head of a 700 hectare farm in Île-de-France, has more of a business manager profile than a farmer. He also sits on the board of directors of around fifteen companies and heads the multinational Avril (industrial and financial group in the vegetable oils and proteins sector). “Regarding Avril, I have said it hundreds of times, it is a company which does not pay dividends and which reinvests everything, if it bothers some people, we take responsibility for taking care of industrial tools to ensure that the value comes down to the farms, so that everyone can earn their living.”

Farmers can vote to elect their representatives, either online or by mail. The Minister of Agriculture has set the closing date for the poll at midnight on January 31, 2025.
