Doubt still hovered yesterday over the duration of the pollution episode which affected and the Haute-Garonne since Tuesday January 14, 2025. If this Friday January 17 constitutes a real peak, for which the prefect of Haute-Garonne responded with emergency measures, vigilance should not be confined to just 24 hours.

The Agency Atmo extends its alert procedure in Haute-Garonne as well as in the Tarn-et-Garonne for Saturday January 18, 2025, due to weather conditions that are still unfavorable for the dispersion of suspended particles emitted into the air, particularly by heating appliances.

Rates will remain high tomorrow

At the start of the weekend, the levels of these suspended particles (PM10) – the most toxic, Editor's note – should remain high in these two departments of Occitanie.

And their impact is no less. In (Tarn-et-Garonne), Wednesday January 15, industrial snow even fell, the result of pollution. On Thursday, the neighboring department of Haute-Garonne had returned to the threshold of the information procedure, but it returned to the alert procedure this Saturday.
