Gard. Woman's body discovered in her home, murder investigation opened

Shortly before 6 p.m., Thursday January 16, 2025, the inanimate body of a woman was discovered in her house in the village of Pujautin the east of the department of Gard. An investigation for murder was opened in the evening.

Requested Friday January 17, by Actu.fr, Julien Delobel, commander of the gendarmerie company at Bagnols-sur-Cèze takes stock of these facts.

“We intervened, with the firefighters, in a home in the town of Pujaut. We went there to a door opening operationthe resident not giving any news to his neighbors,” presents the soldier.

A body was quickly discovered in the house. “It is a femme aged 60 ansliving on site,” confirms the company commander.

A murder investigation

“On the spot, 20 investigators of different units of the Bagnols-sur-Cèze company and agents specializing in criminal identity remained until 5 a.m. this morning. They carried out all first findings. The floor of Nimes (Gard) was immediately informed of this matter,” continues the gendarme.

An investigation was opened in the evening to “ Murder“. This is carried out by the research brigade of the gendarmerie company ofBagnols-sur-Cèze.

An individual was arrested.
