Morocco is the Renault Group’s eighth global market in 2024 and the first in Africa, the French car manufacturer said on Thursday. The group’s sales in Morocco reached 67,686 vehicles last year, representing a local market share of 38.4%, the manufacturer said in a press release. This market share is the highest among the Renault Group’s 15 main global markets, according to the same source.
Furthermore, Renault’s global sales amounted to 2,264,815 vehicles in 2024, up 1.3% compared to 2023, benefiting from its launches of new models and the continuation of its offensive in the electric segment. France is the brand’s leading market with 541,795 units sold in 2024, ahead of Italy (205,423) and Turkey (167,262). In Europe, the group grew twice as much, with sales up 3.5%. “With 1,599,051 vehicles sold, Renault Group is on the podium of car manufacturers with Sandero, the best-selling car across all channels,” specifies the manufacturer. Sales of hybrid vehicles in Europe increased by 45% to represent 25.5% of the group’s sales, or 7.5 points more than in 2023. Electric vehicles represented 9% of total sales in Europe, of which 12 % in the fourth quarter.
