A 20-year-old man killed in a collision with a heavy goods vehicle in Côte-d'Or

This Friday, January 17, a young man died in a traffic accident north of , in the town of Val-Suzon. By mid-morning, traffic was stopped in the area.

It was 6:30 a.m. this Friday, January 17, when around twenty firefighters intervened in the town of Val Suzon. A major traffic accident took place on departmental road 971. A light vehicle and a heavy goods vehicle, carrying no load, were involved. Both vehicles were completely engulfed in flames.

The firefighters from Saint-Seine and Dijon , who came with six engines, and the mobile emergency and resuscitation structure (Smur) were on site. A 20-year-old young man was urgently extracted by witnesses. He was in cardiac arrest. The driver of the truck is a man aged around fifty.

Despite the intervention of firefighters and several resuscitation attempts, the young man was unfortunately declared dead by the Smur. Emergency services treated three witnesses, shocked by the accident.

The fire was extinguished by firefighters and they left the scene. By mid-morning, the wrecker was on site, removing the damaged vehicles.

Traffic is currently completely interrupted, with significant traffic disruptions expected in the area. The Traffic Engineering and Management Center therefore implemented several diversions before and after the accident.
