A source explains the case of radical activist Youssef El Asrouti

Well-informed sources have indicated that Moroccan Youssef El Asrouti, currently based in the Netherlands, is a “radical activist” who promotes anti-Moroccan ideas. Rejected from Germany, the character tries to make his way among the radicals and tries to obtain political asylum.

Contrary to rumors, he is not close to Moroccan intelligence. In reality, he is one of the characters furthest from the Moroccan national cause.

Even if he is not a native “Rif”, El Asrouti stood out as one of the most radical activists of the Hirak du Rif operating in Europe. He is part of the “republican current”, led to Düsseldorf by Jabir El Ghadioui known as “Yuba” who is close to Algerian intelligence.

The Moroccan national was returned from Germany in May 2018, then escaped to the Netherlands, the same sources indicate. He actively participates in the development and execution of several subversive projects of the “Riffian protest” in Europe.

He tries in several ways, and the most virulent, to “prove” that he is an opponent apparently threatened in order to obtain the precious sesame, political asylum in Germany which would allow him to remain on European territory. while he was there illegally.

In March 2018, El Asrouti was arrested by German authorities and imprisoned in a refugee center awaiting extradition to Morocco. Since this first attempt at expulsion by Germany, his activism has gained more momentum, going so far as to make comments attacking the person of the King and calling for the independence of the Rif.

This outburst against Morocco was, it seems, intended to send a message to the German authorities that he would be in danger if he were to be returned to his country given his most radical positions.

In May, following the refusal of his request for political asylum in Germany, the Moroccan Consulate in Düsseldorf was asked to issue him a pass. During his expulsion, the man violently struggled with the police upon his arrival at the airport, which pushed the police to abandon his boarding.

On June 1, upon his release from incarceration thanks to a lawyer paid by Yuba, El Asrouti went further and published a letter in which he said he renounced his Moroccan nationality and withdrew his allegiance to the King, in a new attempt to influence the German authorities in order to grant him political asylum.

Currently, Youssef El Asrouti is in the Netherlands, where he has submitted a new request for asylum to the competent authorities, insisting that he is wanted in Morocco because of his activism for the “independence of the Rif “.
