On January 14, Sûreté du Québec police officers from the MRC Matawinie station arrested Maxime Dumas St-Jean and seized weapons in Rawdon.
Wildlife protection officers went to Chemin Berger in Rawdon regarding a poaching case.
Various items were found on site and an additional search warrant was obtained by SQ investigators to search the residence and its outbuildings.
Investigators seized:
• 16 guns (short and long)
• 2 loaded handguns
-• 12 air guns (short and long)
• 14 plastic chests filled with ammunition of various calibers
• 1 unlocked crossbow
The 36-year-old man was arrested for weapons possession while he was subject to 2 lifetime weapons prohibition orders.
He appeared at the Joliette courthouse yesterday and remained detained.
