ADPEP46 welcomes the success of its first civic hike intended to train and support young people in their citizenship.

Last Saturday, the Departmental Association of Public Education Wards of Lot (ADPEP46) organized its first citizen hike. Imagined by Virginie Pereira, director of the association, and accompanied by Hind Maaroufi, communications manager, this initiative was part of the Quinzaine de l'Engagement, with the support of the departmental youth services, Engagement and Sports (SDJES46), represented by GĂ©raldine Comba.

A walk and citizen and prevention workshops

Around twenty participants, mixing young people and volunteers, climbed Mont Saint-Cyr from Cahors. This hike was not just a simple stroll: on the plateau, ADPEP46 had set up interactive workshops with the support of partners such as the Maison des adolescents (MDA46), the Departmental Youth Council (CDJ46), the Judicial Protection of Youth (PJJ) and Syded.

The activities addressed varied and civic themes: gender equality, nutrition and health via a buzzer workshop, waste sorting, and information on Civic Service, a system run by the association for young people aged 16 to 25, and up to 30 years for people with disabilities. These discussions were followed by a friendly moment around a snack before heading back down to the association's premises. This first edition, marked by good humor and commitment, was unanimously welcomed by the participants.
