Thursday, January 16 in Rabat, Malawi reiterated its support for the territorial integrity of Morocco and its sovereignty over the Saharan provinces in a joint communiqué signed following talks between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, and his Malawian counterpart, Nancy Tembo.
On this occasion, the Malawian minister welcomed the growing international consensus on the issue and the dynamic led by King Mohammed VI. According to her, the Moroccan autonomy plan is “the only credible, serious and realistic solution“. Nancy Tembo also welcomed the efforts of the UN, saying that the organization is “the exclusive framework to achieve a realistic, practical and lasting solution to the regional Sahara dispute».

On the other hand, both parties expressed their desire to consolidate their bilateral partnership. Morocco will support the Republic of Malawi in establishing an ambitious partnership for the development of sustainable agriculture.
At the multilateral level, Mr. Bourita and Ms. Tembo stressed the need to harmonize their positions within regional, continental and international institutions, such as the African Union (AU) and the United Nations (UN), underlines- we in the press release.
