Fémini'up intends to free the voices of women in Pays Royannais

It meets a need. Created in November 2024, the Facebook group Fémini'up already has more than 300 members and continues to grow. The evenings, for their part, attract several dozen participants around the table once a month.

Royanaise Cécile Molla, 44, hit the nail on the head by imagining this space of words reserved, for the moment, for women. “I've been wanting to create a sort of community for a long time to address different subjects that touch on the often mistreated condition of women. It’s also linked to my personal history,” she explains.

However, don't tell her she's a feminist. The MeToo and Balance your pork movements, very little for her. “It annoys me and it's not my approach,” assures the woman who settled down in the seaside resort a few years ago with her husband Stéphane, saxophonist and event organizer (StefSax Events).

Atypical routes

Anyone can join the circle. “There is no age limit and of course all profiles are accepted. Each woman has her own experience and can contribute to others. The idea is to exchange and no subject is taboo,” insists the administrator of the Facebook page who very quickly decided to organize physical meetings to further strengthen the bond between the members.

Two evenings have already taken place in Royan at the atmospheric bar Le Floor and at the La Cigale performance hall. A third is scheduled for this Friday, January 17 at the Garage. These meetings give pride of place to discovering each other. “We start with a life story. One of us tells the others. The exercise is not easy, but we work on it together. We are in kindness and there is no judgment,” assures Cécile Molla. A speaker who worked at the Ministry of Defense, for example, recounted at the opening of an evening why and how she had opened a delicatessen in . “Some have atypical backgrounds and experiences that can be useful to others. »

Free speech without constraint

Conversational workshops then take place around a drink and a buffet. Conviviality being one of the pillars of the group. “If one of the participants does not want to express themselves, there is no problem. Speaking in front of other people you don't know can be stressful. We're here to lighten the mood. The leitmotif, I repeat, is to free speech, but without constraint. During the last evening, I divided these workshops into tables of six to make it easier,” underlines the Royannaise.

In any case, these meetings created new friendships. “That’s also the goal. Some are plunged into real solitude. We are here to get to know each other and create a network of friends. » Cécile Molla now wants to direct Fémini'up towards charitable and solidarity actions. “If we can help resolve certain dramatic situations…” The idea has been launched and should very quickly lead to concrete results.
