Slimani, 36, had his first adventure in Belgium by wearing the Anderlecht jersey for six months during the 2022-2023 season. He then scored 9 goals in 16 matches with the RSCA. Last season, he settled in Mechelen, also for six months, with 3 goals in 13 games.
The striker left Mechelen last summer to return to Algeria from CR Belouizdad, where he made his professional debut in 2009. The top scorer in the history of the Algerian selection (47 goals in 102 caps) then joined the Sporting CP in 2013 then Leicester in 2016. He was notably loaned by the Foxes to Newcastle, Fenerbahce and Monaco.
