A major breakthrough was made during the meeting of the Technical Committee and the government last Tuesday, January 15. The status of decision-making teachers, the subject of long demands from teaching unions, will be revised. The modification of decrees 2006-392 of April 27, 2006 and 74-347 of April 12, 1994 was announced, allowing these teachers to align their status with that of civil servants. A period of two years has been defined to allow this regularization.
Long treated differently from their colleagues, although recruited under the same conditions and having undergone the same training, decision-making teachers have often denounced a situation that they considered unfair. They felt wronged in their career prospects. This historic decision responds to a strong demand from teachers, also concerned by the urgency of addressing the question of a decent pension.
This information was relayed by the Sud Quotidien website which indicates that the unions continue to push for diligent consultations with the government on this crucial issue.
