The favorites assure, Teungueth FC falls from high

The 32nd finals of the Senegal Cup, played this Wednesday, confirmed the expected hierarchy, with a few exceptions. If most of the tenors held their place, Teungueth FC suffered an elimination which led to the departure of its coach, Sidate Sarr.

The Jaraaf of Dakar has perfectly assumed its status as favorite. Opposed to Karack FC, the Medinese flew through the match with a resounding victory (4-0). This success, beyond their qualification for the round of 16, allows them to approach their crucial trip to Algeria for the final day of the CAF Cup with confidence. There, a defeat would almost be synonymous with elimination.

For its part, Casa Sports de Ziguinchor had to be patient to overcome a courageous team from AS Cambérène. Thanks to a valuable goal, the Ziguinchorois ensured their qualification (1-0). Génération Foot also did what was necessary. The Academicians of Déni Biram Ndao won with the same minimum score (1-0) against AF Darou Salam, thus validating their ticket for the next round.

If the favorites generally held their place, Teungueth FC, semi-finalist last year, experienced a nightmarish evening. Opposed to the DUC, the Rufisquois were eliminated as soon as they entered the fray (0-1). This poor performance caused a shock wave within the club, precipitating the departure of their coach Sidate Sarr. Jamono Fatick, bottom of Ligue 1, beat Amitié FC with the lowest score (1-0). In a confrontation between two Ligue 2 clubs, AS Kaffrine won with authority against Diambars (2-0).
