An idea originally launched as fake news on social networks by Sept-based Anthony Bellavance becomes an open-air event project on the Grande-Basque island. The instigator quickly noticed the interest on the web, first proposing to plant the letters of Sept-Îles on the island, like that of Hollywood on a Californian mountain. His joke sparked so many reactions that it turned into a Festi-Basque project.
Anthony Bellavance was surprised by the amount of reactions, both positive and negative, to his two wacky videos. Many people believed it.
Anthony Bellavance therefore created a Festi-Basque Project Facebook page. He gets carried away while describing it. A mechanic by profession, the Septilian hopes that partners will join him so that his dream of “a unique event, a true celebration of nature, music and local culture comes true in the heart of Sept-Îles. »
The scale of the reactions from Internet users in the Sept-Îles region and elsewhere sends a message, admits Anthony Bellavance. “Things have to happen!” I’m a positive guy. There is a thirst for a festival, an evening or a party on an island in Sept-Îles. »
Anthony Bellavance hopes that Septiliens will get involved. For the moment several people have submitted ideas on his new Festi-Basque Project page. The instigator believes that Sept-Îles is a maritime city that dreams of recognition of its exceptional biodiversity and of the opportunity to celebrate a unique environment.
