The letter that the Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko addressed to the Minister of Finance and Budget, Cheikh Diba, relating to the reports of the Technical Committee on land management, had the effect of a bomb in the Senegalese Football world. Particularly on the allocation of plots at the level of the Gendarmerie Officers School (Eogen) and Eogen-Extension and among the beneficiaries, members of the official delegation of the national football team which won the Can 2021, on February 6 2022 at the Olembe stadium in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
Will the members of the official delegation allocated land at the Ouakam Gendarmerie Officers School lose their plot? Mystery and gumball!
In any case, the letter relating to the reports of the Technical Committee on land management, which Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko addressed to the Minister of Finance and Budget, Cheikh Diba, ended up causing a certain panic among some.
This, because of this part of the missive: “Regarding the EOGEN and EOGEN-Extension subdivisions, located in a military zone, I instruct you to take steps for their cancellation,” we read in the Chief’s edict. of Government.
The same source adds: “You will study the possibility of relocating the project for the Ouakam municipal stadium to part of the said housing estates.”
“We have difficulty understanding. It is still the Head of State (Macky Sall – Editor’s note) who granted us this land. Some have sold their plot to go build elsewhere, others already have land titles,” confides a member of the official delegation who preferred to remain anonymous.
Another refuses to believe what he read. “I don’t think we’re concerned. I read Eogen and Eogen-Extension. We had instead heard about Eogen 1 and Eogen 2. Is it the same thing? I give my tongue to the cat. But, he (Ousmane Sonko – Editor’s note) plans to install the Ouakam stadium on the site. We cannot take away plots from some to resettle others,” he argues.
However, a member of the Senegalese Football Federation who is very familiar with the matter maintains that the plots already granted to the 56 or even 57 members of the official delegation are not affected.
It should be noted that the reports also concern the subdivisions of Hangar des Pèlerins, BOA, Recasement 2, EOGEN and EOGEN-Extension, Pointe Sarene, Ndiébène-Gandiole, the PUDs of Guédiawaye, Yeumbeul-Malika-Tivaouane Peulh, Mbour IV and Nouvelle- City of Thiès.
The cancellations also concern the part between the ocean and the VDN of the PUDs of Guédiawaye and Yeumbeul-Malika-Tivaouane Peulh.
