“Let us breathe. Let us be trusted,” says this mayor of Val-d’Oise

“Let us breathe. Let us do it, let us trust us,” said Stéphanie Von Euw, mayor (L-R) of (Val-d'Oise) in his speech of wishes, Saturday January 11, 2025.

The elected official took advantage of the ritual to pass on various political messages, targeting state governance which targets local authorities in its plan to reduce public spending.

“… these irresponsible communities who vote for a balanced budget every year […] These communities which only represent 7% of the national debt but 70% of the investment by ensuring the daily running of public services, from which the State is increasingly relieving itself”, she quipped ironically to the State, before to announce the actions that will be undertaken by his team in 2025.

Council on the rights and duties of families, nursery council, launch of the Educational City system are on the program.

Works and construction sites

No neighborhood will be forgotten. Particularly the city center: new bakery and return of a pharmacy; the quays of the Oise: a new playground, the redevelopment of the Place de la Piscine, the organization of a sports village, the return of the fireworks on July 14; the Notre-Dame district: extension of the Parc-aux-Charrettes medical center; Les Louvrais: synthetic pitch at the Nelson-Mandela stadium.

The action to boost commercial activity will be marked by the creation of a trade office and the launch of the plan to requalify commercial storefronts as part of the Action Cœur de Ville system.

Hall Saint-Martin

In terms of road repairs, rue de la Citadelle will be redone, as well as avenue de l'Île-de-, accompanied by the planting of 36 trees. But also Avenue du Sud Maradas.

HAS Marcouvillethe first work to close the collapsed slab will be launched while the construction of the Ludovic-Piette school is completed.

To Louvrestart of the real estate program on Avenue Henri-Dunant with the announcement of new businesses: pharmacy, bakery, newsagent, brasserie and mini-market.

To Cordeliersthe demolition site of the Tower will offer a new perspective, making way for a landscaped space.

The wasteland of the Saint-Martin hall could have found a new use.

“We are currently negotiating with a medical group which plans to build a multidisciplinary center made up of general practitioners and specialists,” declared the mayor during her speech.

“Pontoise is evolving, transforming and the challenge is to adapt our city to the challenges of the next thirty years,” expressed Stéphanie Von Euw.
