Expropriation procedures are moving forward at high speed

Local authorities have launched the process to finalize the expropriations necessary for the construction of the Kenitra-Casablanca-Marrakech-Agadir LGV. They ensure the regularity of administrative decisions and the proper compensation of owners, in particular for agricultural and real estate assets impacted by the project.

The governors of the provinces and prefectures located in the areas crossed by the future railway lines of the Kenitra-Casablanca-Marrakech-Agadir LGV have given firm instructions to finalize the expropriation procedures in the public interest. This step is essential to enable the successful completion of the ambitious infrastructure project, which aims to connect several major cities in Morocco by a high-speed line.

In order to ensure transparent and fair management, the authorities have asked the services concerned to carefully examine the lists of compensation beneficiaries. According to media reports, meetings have been scheduled to evaluate the prices of land affected by the expropriation, with the aim of avoiding any form of manipulation or injustice. Indeed, this approach aims to respond to potential disputes from owners by taking into account their observations and ensuring a precise evaluation of the plots concerned.

Firstly, the authorities ensure that all the land affected by the project has been the subject of administrative expropriation decisions, which allows the compensation process to be accelerated for those who have accepted an amicable transfer. of their land. At the same time, the National Railway Office (ONCF) sends the lists of beneficiaries to local authorities, so that compensation can be awarded for the property concerned, including any plantations, crops, and possible constructions present on this land.

Several months ago, the executive began expropriation procedures for the establishment of the future High Speed ​​Line (LGV) between Marrakech and Agadir, in accordance with Decree No. 2.20.71. This decree specifies in particular the expropriation for reasons of public utility of agricultural land in the sixth district of Agadir. Furthermore, a similar decree was adopted in the province of Settat, which affects several municipalities, such as Sidi El Aidi, Settat, Mzamza Sud, El Haouza, Khemisset Chaouia, Sidi Mohamed Rahal, and Machraa Ben Abbou. In all, 996 plots, with a total area of ​​552 hectares, spread over 63.5 kilometers, are affected.

A similar procedure was launched in the province of Mediouna, including the municipalities of Majjatia, Mediouna, and Sidi Hajjaj Oued Hassar, to allow the implementation of this strategic infrastructure project for the country.
