The motorist who mowed down three cyclists in speaks of “personal discomfort”

The judicial police needs more time to question the driver who mowed down three cyclists at the wheel of her van, Tuesday January 14, 2025, in (Seine-Maritime), in the morning.

The day after the tragedy, the public prosecutor from Rouen, Sébastien Gallois has in fact announced the extension of the suspect's custody. “It will be completed tomorrow morning at the latest,” he adds.

“Significant personal discomfort”

” THE investigations of the judicial police are continuing to reconstruct the complete journey of the suspect, identify possible other witnesses or victims, and understand the reasons for this action,” explains the prosecution.

The latter adds that the driver links this act to “significant personal discomfort”. The two injured are two women, born in 1993 and 1995. The deceased victim was a 28-year-old woman.

Note that the driver made “incoherent comments after her arrest”. The state of intoxication has been ruled out, the presence or not of drugs remains to be analyzed. A psychiatric assessment is also planned “soon”.
