In the last episode of Seven to EightHarry Roselmack told the story of Anne, a 53-year-old woman, victim of a scammer (a scammer hiding behind a computer screen, editor's note) pretending to be Brad Pitt.
A novice on social networks, the fifty-year-old was unfortunately unable to spot the fake profiles and misleading messages hidden behind the images sent by the scammer.
Convinced that she was really interacting with the American actor, she was gradually manipulated, to the point of losing the colossal sum of 830,000 eurosa record amount for this type of scam.
The identity of the grazer revealed
According to the latest information from Marwan, a former hacker converted to helping victims of online scams, Anne's grazer has been identified and is currently in Nigeria.
“We managed to gain full access to the scammer's device by sending him a booby-trapped link which he clicked on. We discover that this guy, in addition to impersonating Brad Pitt, he impersonates Keanu Reeves! (…) He will be arrested normally in the coming days, we have great hope that she will be able to recover her money, perhaps not in full, but in my opinion, a good part“, he confided in an interview with Legend this Tuesday January 14, 2025.
Anne responds to her detractors
For her part, Anne regrets having been “manipulated” by TF1. According to her, the report broadcast on the first channel does not reflect the truth.
“I'm not crazy or stupid as some claim on social networks. I just wanted to help someone, I was fooled, I admit it, and that's why I testified.“, she explained.
And added: “There were times when I didn't believe it. I say it every time: 'this photo is fake!' I can see very clearly that it's a photo montage but in the show, all this is not said. I am a sensible woman and if you were in my place, you would have fallen into the trap. If someone comes and talks to you nicely, says words to you that you've never heard from your own husband, well yes, we fall for it. That's how it happened. But you can't speak or judge how I fell for this scam“. A very dark affair.
