Rare occurrence. This Tuesday January 14 in Toulouse, two gas leaks occurred in a few minutes following public worksrequiring the mobilization of Haute-Garonne firefighters.
Residents confined during interventions
“The first alert was given around 10:30 a.m. and the second around 11:10 a.m.“, details the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service of Haute-Garonne (SDIS 31).
Once mobilized to the two locations, emergency services will notice “gas leaks on public roads near Grand Rue Saint-Michel as well as on avenue Saint-Simon“. “For both interventions, the firefighters were in the presence ofmedium pressure gas line tears“, specifies SDIS 31.
Following these incidents, security perimeters were implemented in both sectors, with a confinement of residents during interventions.
Explosimetric readings carried out
Present alongside the firefighters, the GRDF services carried out explosimetric readings before the lockdowns are lifted.
-In total, several dozen firefighters were mobilized for these interventions. THE law enforcement were also at both locations.
