Since last week, around ten complaints were filed with the gendarmerie for burglaries. The victims, mainly seniors, live in several municipalities in the Brest region: Plouzané, Guilers and Plouvien. They all tell essentially the same story. Two or three individuals showed up at their homes claiming to have run over a cat. While one of them spoke to the victim, his accomplices visited the house. Jewelry and cash were mainly stolen.
A call for vigilance
“It’s a phenomenon that is growing,” laments Captain Manuel Lozach’meur of the Brest departmental gendarmerie company.
The soldier calls on residents “to be extra vigilant”. In particular, it is not recommended to let unknown people into your home.
