Club: PSG responds to violent Textor attacks

In a long interview with RMC Sport, OL president John Textor violently attacked PSG and its president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, accused of illegally killing the competitiveness of Ligue 1 thanks to money from Qatar, all with the complicity of the LFP. An attack to which PSG quickly responded.

Failing to be a rival on the field, OL with John Textor seems to want to take on the role of PSG's great opponent off it. In an interview given on Saturday to RMC Sport and broadcast Monday evening by the radio in his program “Rothen s'igname”, the American president of OL spoke at length about his project, his ideas for French football and about. .. PSG and Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.

Like Jean-Michel Aulas in his time, Textor accuses PSG of being a state club and of illegally distorting competition in via Qatar: “PSG money which comes from a foreign state, which illegally subsidizes a private business, and which distorts sporting interest. It's illegal! The DNCG and the League accept this violation of European laws. So PSG can kick our butts on the pitch every year. Me, who arrives with another model and other financial sources, they denigrate me. »

The president of OL denounces the influence of PSG and Al-Khelaïfi on the LFP

Textor alludes to the DNCG's sanctions against OL, which was imposed last November with a ban on recruitment and a control of its payroll for this winter, as well as a demotion as a precautionary measure in end of the season, if his financial situation does not improve by then. Behind these DNCG sanctions, Textor sees a scheme by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi to harm his club.

“The League is quite crazily dominated by this man. And I wasn't aware of that. PSG's influence on the League and even the DNCG is something that deserves a closer look. This will surely make the big boss of the DNCG fume, but there is a form of incorrectness, the DNCG must be particularly careful to maintain its independence from the League”blurted out Textor, who also paid Vincent Labrune, accused of being under the thumb of Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.

Labrune, Al-Khelaïfi’s “little doggie” according to Textor

“In July, I was completely shocked because we talked about rights and the president of the League, who was supposed to lead the debates, said almost nothing… It was Nasser who led the debates, while he shouldn't even have been present, as the boss of a television channel (beIN Sports, editor's note) directly involved in the debates. If there was a discordant voice, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi “barked” at that person, there was a lot of intimidation too. The president of the League sat without saying anything like a little “doggie”. »

“It’s a shame that class and elegance can’t be bought because that would have saved Mr. Textor from making a fool of himself”

This lunar outing by the president has obviously caused a lot of noise since Monday evening and PSG quickly reacted via the French press: “It’s a shame that class and elegance cannot be bought because that would have prevented Mr. Textor from making a fool of himself through his crude and lying excesses against our President,” said Nasser Al’s entourage. -Khelaïfi at Le Parisien. May he come back to earth, and to France too, to better understand this Ligue 1 that we love so much. »

Not wishing to fuel the controversy, PSG also made it known that it would not file a complaint against the Lyon leader: “This is exactly what he is looking for and we have no time to waste with him,” a PSG manager told Le Parisien. Textor would do better to take care of his club and devote as much time to its management as to his preoccupation with abusing others in football, people joke in the entourage of the president of PSG. It is curious to note that all his failures are always the fault of others. It's like he's living in a parallel reality.”.

Textor apologized to Labrune…

Strongly criticized by the American, the LFP also reacted to his interview on RMC Sport and said « surprise ». The LFP also responded to Textor regarding the famous meeting on TV rights to which he alluded: “The meeting mentioned, in which John Textor took part, was a meeting of the Ligue 1 college chaired by Jean-Pierre Caillot and not a board of directors where the exchanges and debates are directed by Jean-Pierre Caillot and not by Vincent Labrune. »

The LFP added that Labrune and Textor had also exchanged on Monday, a few hours before the broadcast of the RMC Sport interview, and that the exchange had been “very cordial”. According to L'Equipe, Textor also apologized in advance to the president of the League, recognizing that he should not have compared him to a “dog”. The next OL/PSG on February 23 in Ligue 1 promises to be hot in any case, at least behind the scenes.
