Leila Benali reaffirms in Riyadh Morocco’s commitment to supporting regional and international cooperation – Le7tv.ma

Speaking at the opening of the 4th international meeting of ministers in charge of mining affairs, Ms. Benali indicated that all eyes are currently on the African continent which is full of mineral wealth that developers need in their processing industries, stressing that this contribution must be made, as Morocco advocates, with full respect for social rights and labor legislation, particularly those linked to the exploitation of children.

Also, the minister noted that the world needs to adapt sustainable mining practices and exploit mineral resources responsibly in order to meet the demands of the global energy transition.

In this regard, Ms. Benali reaffirmed Morocco’s willingness to strengthen cooperation with all international partners and to work to transform challenges into investment opportunities, noting the importance of coordinating efforts to develop and sustain value chains. minerals and ensure their durability.

On the other hand, participants in this conclave recalled the challenges facing the world in terms of clean energy, calling for the implementation of policies supporting sustainable exploration and the development of local industries associated with these minerals. , while taking advantage of modern technology to optimize the added value of these resources.

The fourth international meeting of ministers responsible for mining affairs continues until January 16, with the participation of leaders of the global mining industry representing 85 countries and officials from 50 international organizations.

This meeting promises to explore new development opportunities for producing countries and is intended to be a global platform that brings together experts and leaders to chart a sustainable future for the mining industries.
