For safety for the school community, the mayor of Matoury, Serge Smock and the president of the Caisse des écoles decided to close two schools due to suspicious fumes. They will reopen on January 16.
The Jacques Lony elementary school and the Raoul Roumillac nursery school are closed for two days from January 14 to 15 inclusive due to strong odors in the town of Matoury.
They were evacuated as a precautionary measure, indicates the press release from the city's Mayor, Serge Smock. The Departmental Fire and Rescue Service was asked to identify the origin of these odors.
-The establishments will be reopened to the public on Thursday January 16 during usual hours.
