Dakar, Jan 14 (APS) – The local national team of Senegal, defending champion, will know its opponents at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), following the draw for this planned eighth edition, Wednesday evening at the Kenyatta International Convention Center in Nairobi (Kenya).
CHAN 2024 will be held from February 1 to 28 in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Monday that three legends of African football will carry out the draw. They are the Ugandan Hassan Wasswa, the Tanzanian Mrisho Ngasa and the Kenyan McDonald Mariga.
Senegal, defending champion, is qualified for this edition of CHAN, which will coincide with the fourth participation of the Lions in this competition bringing together players playing in Africa.
-Here are the qualified teams:
Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda (all host countries), Morocco, Guinea, Senegal, Mauritania, Niger, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Congo, Sudan, Zambia, Angola and Madagascar.
Two other teams will be confirmed later by CAF.
