Pandora moves from shadow to light. Rescued in September 2024 after discovering the sad living conditions of several dogs in the town of Marans in Charente-Maritime (17), the intervention required the presence of the gendarmes, and the pretty dog did not go unnoticed.
When the animals were seized, Warrant Officer Julien G., a dog handler belonging to the Rochefort dog investigation group, had the eye to spot the potential of this young Malinois.
He requests his placement in a shelter close to him
Wanting to verify his initial intuitions, the adjutant asked that the dog be placed not far from Rochefort at the end of her care. Taken in at ASPAC (Animal Rescue and Protection Association of Châtelaillon-Plage), Pandora received a visit the next day from the gendarme who wanted to carry out tests with a view to considering recruiting the dog within the dog team.
Quickly, Pandora seemed to meet the first three criteria sought by adjutant Julien G.: the dog is playful, determined, and sociable.
After a few days of conclusive tests, the pretty Malinoise will be able to be transferred on January 19, 2025 to Gramat in the Lot (46), to pass the ultimate test at the National Cynophile Training Center of the Gendarmerie. During this evaluation, the 2-year-old dog will undergo medical examinations and tests for a month to verify her ability to permanently join a gendarmerie platoon.
If Pandora successfully completes her evaluation, she could become a search dog for narcotics, tickets, explosives, or even missing persons. A beautiful revenge for this dog who lived in suffering and indifference.
