Starck and Caille led the Trail des Mathes

If the cross country looks grim, this is not the case for the trail in Charente-Maritime and this is undoubtedly one of the explanations for the poor health of the former. Sunday January 12, 1,300 runners completed the three distances on the program for the 2nd edition of the Trail des Mathes – La Palmyre (11, 25 and 50 kilometers).

Among them, the Saintais duathlete Léo Starck gave no one the right to win over the 25 km. He won in 1 h 35 min 49 s ahead of the recent 70.3 triathlon world champion for 30-34 year olds, Breuilleton Alexandre Caille, 1 h 38 min 22 s. Among the women, victory went to Louise Loisel in less than 2 hours.

Gaylord Étienne (Athlé Lesparre Médoc) and Sophie Boiron (Kékés du Bocage) were the fastest over the 50 km, in 3 h 42 min 59 s and 4 h 34 min 10 s respectively. On the 11 km, it was Cédric Guignouard (Aventures Running Segonzac) and triathlete Ameline Sounn who were the best in 44 min 21 s and 53 min 01 s.
